Driffield Methodist Church Enhances Worship Experience with State-of-the-Art Audio Visual Installation

Definition Audio Visual is pleased to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive audio visual installation at Driffield Methodist Church, significantly enhancing the worship experience for its congregation. The project, undertaken in the church’s newly constructed main worship area, involved the integration of a high-quality Bose sound system, an Ampetronic hearing loop system, and a cutting-edge Kramer HDMI over CAT6 distribution system.

The audio component of the installation features four white Bose 402 loudspeakers, strategically positioned to provide balanced and immersive sound throughout the worship space. Two speakers are located on each side of the main area, ensuring consistent audio coverage for all attendees.

Powering the sound system is a reliable QSC stereo amplifier, neatly housed within a dedicated control cupboard. This setup facilitates seamless connection to an Allen & Heath QU16 digital mixer via an XLR input panel conveniently mounted on the exterior wall. Furthermore, the existing Sennheiser radio microphone systems, retained from the client, were integrated into the new system through the same XLR input wall panels, offering a familiar and convenient user experience.

The visual aspect of the installation focuses on delivering clear and engaging content to the congregation. Two Iiyama 86-inch commercial screens were installed on either side of the stage, providing excellent visibility from all seating locations. These screens are driven by a sophisticated Kramer HDMI over CAT6 distribution system, comprising a Kramer HDMI switcher and a 1-in-4-out distribution amplifier connected to three HDMI over CAT6 receivers. This ensures reliable and high-quality signal transmission across the entire system.

To enhance usability and flexibility, a Kramer active HDMI input plate was installed in the stage area, allowing for easy connection of laptops and other devices. Complementing this is a Kramer active HDMI output plate connected to a Samsung 32-inch TV screen, serving as a valuable preview monitor for presenters.

Addressing the needs of hearing-impaired members, a comprehensive hearing loop system was implemented. Two loops, constructed using flat copper tape and strategically placed beneath the wooden floor, cover the entire hall. These loops are powered by a robust Ampetronic dual hearing loop amplifier, delivering clear and amplified audio directly to hearing aids.

This comprehensive audio visual installation at Driffield Methodist Church underscores our commitment to providing innovative and tailored solutions that enhance communication and engagement within places of worship. The new system is designed to be user-friendly, reliable, and capable of supporting a wide range of worship activities for years to come.

In the small meeting room within the church we have installed an Ampetronic hearing loop system which consists of a flat copper tape installed under the wooden flooring connected to an Ampetronic hearing loop amplifier and connected to this are two Audio Technica AT875 shotgun microphones which are installed on the ceiling. We have a new Epson projector which is projecting onto the main white wall and connected via a Kramer active HDMI over CAT6 wall plate to a HDMI over CAT6 receiver.
